So, as some of you may remember, for 3 years running, our summer tours have coincided with a number of deaths of notable (or quasi-notable) individuals. This year, we are sad to report that the death toll started climbing before we even left: Clarence Clemons, saxophone player in the E Street Band and all-around badass, passed on the 18th, while fellow badass Ryan Dunn died on the 20th. Sad times indeed.
But hey, we’re on tour! And thats a great thing. So far we have played in DC and Philly, at the RocknRoll Hotel and Johnny Brenda’s, respectively, and may I just say, there are some lovely people at both of those venues. As you may know, we are playing in support of White Demin and Mazes, who have performed excellently thus far, though Mazes missed the DC show because they are not based on this continent.
We have been fortunate enough to encounter the hospitality of extended family on this trip so far, and it has been truly spectacular. Big shout-outs to the McDaniels and the Gladdens for housing us boyz.
Our adventures continue tomorrow (Friday), as we head to Brighton Music Hall in lovely Boston, Mass! I know, I know, I want to see Jeff the Brotherhood and Fucked Up too, but I’m going to the White Denim/Mazes/Static Jacks show, and so should you! After Boston, we head to Montreal and Toronto, making this our first international tour! Check out the TOUR tab at the top of this page for details, kittens.
PS - When you come to our shows, make sure you pick up some TSJ t-shirts, Laces EPs, and our split-7” with Beast Make Bomb, featuring the first released track of our debut album “If You’re Young” (coming out August 30th, as you know), for all these items are limited releases, and, like so many celebrities, will not last forever!
