It isn’t often that two bands hit it off instantly. Let’s be honest… a lot of people in bands are relatively uninteresting and just kind of suck. So when notable exceptions come along, it’s important to treasure and support them. For us, as a band, there are few better examples than Beast Make Bomb.
From the Brooklyn DIY spaces they grew their sound, a grungy party-rock that people just seemed to immediately respond to, and they captured our attention, as they did with so many others. Playing shows, featuring one another on recordings, and getting drunk together were just a few ways we showed our mutual respect and appreciation.
So it is with a sad heart that I relay the news that Beast Make Bomb will be playing their last show on July 30th at the Studio at Webster Hall in NYC. Thankfully, this sadness is made slightly less harsh by the fact that WE are also playing that show, along with our new friends TEAM SPIRIT. Its going to be one for the books, folks. A real blowout. We’re going to celebrate the life and career of Beast Make Bomb, and they’re gonna go out in style. It’ll be like a funeral for someone who hasn’t died just yet. There will be laughs, there will be tears, there will be warm, fuzzy distortion and loud, splashing cymbals. And good times will be had by all.
Beast Make Bomb, you will be missed.
With Love,
The Static Jacks
