This. Tour. Is. O. Ver.
So much to reflect on. Let’s talk about some things.
I’ll start by saying that the drive to Detroit was pretty brutal. We left New Jersey around 5:30 in the morning, and got to Detroit around 5:30 in the evening. It is a fascinating thing to be trapped in a car for any length of time greater than ten hours. We passed the time by playing games like “How Much Water Can I Drink...
Double Trouble
This post will attempt to cover the events of June 7th and 8th, highlighting the concerts performed at the Paradise in Boston, and Bowery Ballroom in NYC.
So we wake up on the 7th, and we are itching to get back on the road after a relaxing day off. Before we leave, however, we have to pick up our new spare tire and see if it fits properly. After removing our real tire to put on the spare, the...
Take Me Home, You Pirates
We have played Maxwell’s a few times before, but I think I can say with confidence that tonight’s show was high up on my favorite-shows-played-at-Maxwell’s list. Big shout-out to our boy Carson, who did an awesome job on our sound this evening. Good guy. Also a shout-out to whoever made my penne vodka, because although it was bowties and not penne, it was really quite splendid...
Black Katz
Last night we were at the Black Cat in DC with our mates the Futureheads and The Like, and I must say, we had an awesome time. First off, we were fed a delicious meal, on the house, which is always great. Secondly, our refrigerator was stocked with the craziest sodas you’ve ever seen, and as a lover of weird soda, I was quite pleased. No alcohol for us (besides Mike) at the venue, because it...
Celebrity Death Tour 2010
So last summer, on Celebrity Death Tour 2009, we lost Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays, David Carradine, and probably some other people.
This summer, we start things out losing our dear Golden Girl, Rue McClanahan (Betty White is the Highlander). Gary Coleman and Dennis Hopper died, like, right before we left, so we’re gonna count it. So we’re already almost even, and the...
Hooray for Futureheads
So tonight was our first show on the Futureheads tour, at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY, with Hooray for Earth. It was a great show. In attendance were new friends, old friends, and people we wished were our friends (Craig Finn of The Hold Steady!). And walking around outside we saw Kyp Malone from TV on the Radio, as well as Ninjasonik! Truly a star-studded evening. Truly.
